Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on the 10th of March, 1949. She is an American investor, speaker and consultant. The Corcoran Group, an NYC-based real estate brokerage was established by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then left the company. Corcoran was one of ABC's original Shark investors, has been a part of every episode of Shark Tank. As of February 2020, she had signed 53 deals with the show, with the most significant being a $350,000 investment in 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran is the second of 10 children from a Catholic family with a low-income was born in Edgewater in New Jersey. Florence Corcoran's mother was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. Her father was constantly switching jobs throughout Corcoran's entire life. Her family frequently relied on free food deliveries from a local grocery store. Corcoran is still able to remember her father as someone who drank often and did not treat her mother with respect. Corcoran had difficulty in school, and later found out she was dyslexic. Corcoran entered high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood, after she left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran was absent from several classes in her first year and transferred to Leonia High School where she was a D student.
